Avijit Banerjee – advanced minimum intervention restorative dentistry
Avijit holds the positions head of conservative and MI dentistry and programme director of KCL. KCL is his innovative, blended-learning masters in advanced minimum intervention restorative dentistry.
He has also been appointed to the NIHR Clinical Research Network, as oral and dental health speciality lead for South London. In this role he is responsible for the development of primary care clinical trials and their professional recruitment programmes.
Amongst other editorships, Avijit is also primary author of Pickard’s Guide to Minimally Invasive Operative Dentistry. This is a definitive and globally respected text in its field.
In addition, he is a member of the BDA health and science committee. He also currently holds an honourable consultant advisor post to the office of the chief dental officer, England.
Of his lecture, Avijit stated: ‘This presentation will outline the value and implementation processes to help advance your modern general dental practice in the post-pandemic era.
‘By using the principles of minimum intervention oral care, delivery and judicious use of the oral healthcare team members, contemporary prevention-based oral health delivery can be achieved.’
After attending his lecture, Avijit hopes delegates are able to:

Define minimum intervention oral care (MIOC) and its four interlinked clinical domains
Gain an insight as to how MIOC delivery can affect patient care across the life-course in all disciplines of restorative dentistry, including caries management
Assign critical roles of MIOC delivery to the members of the oral healthcare team
Gain information about the postgraduate masters in advanced MI restorative dentistry at King’s College London.
