The Biden administration is working to buy 200 million more doses of Covid-19 vaccines from Pfizer ( PFE )/BioNTech ( BNTX ) and Moderna ( MRNA ), a move that could provide enough doses to fully inoculate nearly every American by the end of the summer, NBC News says. The agreement would lessen reliance on getting additional doses from other manufacturers. The Trump administration passed on buying more doses from Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna and instead bet that additional vaccines from Johnson & Johnson ( JNJ ) and AstraZeneca ( AZN ) would come to market.
